Quebec Apostille for Documents Used in Türkiye
Quebec apostilles for Türkiye: the Ministère de la Justice, civil status acts from 2015 on, court clerks, notarial acts and the Chambre des notaires.
Quebec documents are apostilled by the Ministère de la Justice du Québec. Its basic rule is about the copy you send: the original, or a copy certified true by the person or body that produced it.
That rule shapes every document family, because the certified copy has to come from the right place.
Where each document comes from
For civil status, the documents come from the Directeur de l'état civil, and certificates and copies of acts must have been issued in 2015 or later. An older birth or marriage certificate has to be ordered again before it can be apostilled.
Court rulings of the Court of Québec, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal, and divorce certificates, are requested from the clerk's office in the district where the ruling was handed down.
Notarial acts, such as a power of attorney for a property matter in Türkiye, take two steps. The copy is requested from the notary who produced the original act, and an authenticity certificate is also obtained from the Chambre des notaires.
Company documents are requested from the Registraire des entreprises du Québec, as a copy of a document or a Certificat d'attestation.
Most educational documents follow the general rule. A document issued by a private college that is non-subsidized or not recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur must also be accompanied by a lawyer's or notary's official certificate.
The request is made with the Ministère's apostille request form. For documents not covered by its list, the form or customer service gives the route, and an online register lets a receiving office check that an apostille is valid.
In Türkiye
The apostilled document then comes to Ankara for the Turkish translation by sworn translators. A Turkish notary certifies the translation where the receiving office requires it, and that office decides on acceptance.
