Delaware Apostille for Documents Used in Türkiye

Delaware apostilles for Türkiye: the Division of Corporations, official copies of public records, no remote notarizations and separately certified filings.

In Delaware, apostilles are issued by the Division of Corporations of the Delaware Department of State. It apostilles documents notarized by a Delaware notary, certified vital records from the State of Delaware and official State documents such as background checks.

Three rules that decide most requests

Publicly recorded documents must be official copies from the issuing Delaware State or County official. These documents are never notarized; a notarized copy of a birth certificate is not the route.

Notarized documents must be notarized in person. The Division does not accept documents notarized remotely or electronically for an apostille, which matters for a power of attorney signed for a property or inheritance matter in Türkiye.

Company documents, such as those a Turkish bank or trade registry asks for, have their own rule. When an apostille is requested for documents filed with the Secretary of State, each document must be certified separately. Documents certified together under a one-cover certification are not accepted.

Every request includes a cover memo that states the purpose of the request and the country where the document will be used; name Türkiye.

After Delaware

The apostilled document is translated into Turkish in Ankara by translators sworn before a Turkish notary, and a Turkish notary certifies the translation where the receiving authority requires it. That authority decides on acceptance.
