Saskatchewan Apostille for Documents Used in Türkiye
Saskatchewan apostilles for Türkiye: Authentication Services, notaries acting as notaries rather than commissioners, and corporate registry documents.
Saskatchewan's apostilles are issued by Authentication Services in the provincial Ministry of Justice and Attorney General. One rule deserves attention before anything is signed: the office checks the capacity in which a document was signed.
Documents must be signed, dated and sealed by a Saskatchewan notary public, who may be a lawyer or a non-lawyer. Documents signed or sealed in the capacity of a commissioner, or under any other non-notary designation, are not authenticated. A power of attorney for Türkiye should therefore be completed before a notary acting as a notary.
Documents by type
Vital statistics documents are original documents issued by Saskatchewan Vital Statistics; originals or a notarized true copy are accepted.
Court documents must be originals issued by a Saskatchewan court. Photocopies are not accepted.
Education documents from a Saskatchewan public post-secondary institution are covered, including letters confirming enrolment and registration, transcripts and grades, diplomas and medical letters.
Corporate registry documents need an extra step. The office requires them to be notarized by a notary or lawyer for the Province before the apostille certificate is issued, which matters for a Saskatchewan company setting up in Türkiye.
Documents are submitted by mail or dropped off in person, together with the office's Document Authentication Checklist. The apostille certificate is bound to the document.
Translation for Türkiye
Our Ankara office receives the apostilled document and has it translated into Turkish by translators sworn before a Turkish notary. If the receiving authority requires notarization of the translation, a Turkish notary provides it, and the authority decides on acceptance.
